Al Santos Named CEO of HealthSouth Northern Virginia
Alfred “Al” Santos has been named chief executive officer of HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Northern Virginia, an inpatient physical rehabilitation hospital that serves patients recovering from conditions such as stroke and other neurological disorders, cardiac and pulmonary conditions, brain and spinal cord injuries, complex orthopedic conditions, and amputations. He will begin his new role on August 15.
Santos comes to HealthSouth Northern Virginia after serving as the administrator of Lincoln County Medical Center and brings more than 30 years of management and leadership experience in the healthcare industry as a chief operating officer, regional director of operations and senior director of integrated health services operations managing facilities in Seoul, South Korea; Arizona, Alabama, Ohio, Oklahoma, Hawaii, Texas, Washington D.C., and Florida. He is also a retired U.S. Army Medical Service Corps officer.
He received his bachelor's degree in finance from the University of California, Berkeley; and a master's degree in healthcare administration from Baylor University in Waco, Texas. Santos is Six Sigma black belt trained in quality and process improvement.
